Bollykids workshops are suitable for children of all ages who love making new friends and learning in an active environment!

How it works...

Bollykids is a high energy, low impact workshop that is fun, sociable and dance based. Bollykids appeals to children who are currently active in sports but also children that are not necessarily attracted to traditional physical activities. It is dance and exercise disguised as fun! The children will enjoy these interactive workshops that are packed with specially choreographed, child-friendly routines and Bollywood music that children love including Classical, Hindi, Pop, Bhangra and many more.
The workshops feature a brief history of Bollywood, exploring the diversity and vibrancy of the culture, before moving on to a whole host of dance routines for individuals and groups using props (i.e. scarves, dance sticks etc.), games and partner/group/team building activities.
The sessions inspire the children to express themselves through movement and play while effectively improving their overall health and well-being. Children love it because it’s fun. Educator’s love it because the children get active and have fun. There is hidden learning within the structure of the session and the workshops have been known to encourage children to enjoy and participate who previously have been difficult to engage.

Bollykids helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children’s lives which plays an integral role in the fight against childhood obesity.
Classes incorporate key childhood development elements such as leadership, problem solving, respect, team work, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, balance, motor skills, social skills, self expression, numeracy, literacy and cultural awareness.

Class Structure

Classes are suggested to be divided by grades/ages and will be geared towards their level of development. All workshops are inclusive and can be adapted to any level including SEN and chair based workshops. Suggested class time is 45-60 minutes. Shorter sessions are available.
